Actions
A. Bryan to spend a day investigating how difficult it will be to add the grids information as another tab in the questionnaire.
A. Marie-Pierre to go through the mind maps and find the commonalities in the grip controlled vocabularies.
A. Bryan and Marie-Pierre to make a decision about what to do about grids on the 2nd March.
A. Gerry to spend 2-3 days producing a questionnaire instance with plausible (if not scientific) answers for ESG to check their import procedure with.
A. Bryan to resend email to the list with the information about the urls for the questionnaire versions.
A. Gerry and Sylvia to sit down and synchronise controlled vocabulary (including the issues with spelling).
A. Bryan, Sylvia, and Balaji to discuss the issue of parameter changes and namelists off-line.
A. Mark M to produce the first draft of a document regarding the diagram of CIM instances, terminology and life cycle next week.
A. Marie-Pierre, Charlotte and Antonio to talk about working together on collecting the controlled vocabulary for downscaling.
A. Balaji will investigate what's likely to happen at the Workshop on Ensuring Access and Trustworthiness of Climate Observations and Models for Society, and will represent Metafor if he decides to go.
A. Eric to read Sarah's email with year 2 reporting instructions and send it to list if it's ok. - done and sent to list.

Previous Actions
A. Julien and Rupert to have a chat about how to move names from questionnaire to ESG. - Ongoing
A. Rupert to process key properties in the questionnaire output for ESG so that they become the "child" of the component they are associated with. - ongoing

Previous completed actions:
A. Everyone is to email Gerry with details of any other operating systems they know are in use to go into the controlled vocabulary list for deployment.- done
A. Everyone to go through their tickets regulary this and next week. -done
A. Bryan will release the next beta version of the questionnaire. It will be on a seperate port, so the new and previous versions will be running at the same time. - done

A. Everyone to review the second draft of the Adgenda for the year 2 meeting - Eric sent this to the metafor list on February 2nd.  Please email Eric if you want to change it. - done

Decisions:
D. Version 1 of the questionnaire will be launched at the end of March.
D. It is ok to circulate the contact email addresses of the CMIP5 modelling groups on the (closed) Metafor list.
D. Gerry will attend the NERC Technology forum in Edinburgh in May to represent Metafor.

Issues:
I. Parameter changes and namelists.

- questionnaire news (Bryan, Charlotte)
   - including grid issues

Adding grids as another tab is likely to be quite complicated, but might allow us to export vocabularies in a more complete way. Bryan will do a day's work to figure out how difficult it's likely to be - should know by next week.

Make grid controlled vocabularies more similar - find commonalities.

Launch of questionnaire end of March (may not include grids)

Complete example of questionnaire. Need to discuss what we want. Gerry provided a first level instance - will provide a new version using actual HiGEM information to make it easier to quality control what ESG are picking out from the instance. Gerry to spend 2-3 days providing this instance. Can give more detail at specific areas of the questionnaire. Create inputs with the different types.

Need CIM instances to populate the tools in WP3. Allyn writing script to auto-populate CIM database with instances.

New questionnaire version is on a different url to the old one to keep versions seperate. Bryan to resend email about the different versions and urls.

- ESG portal news (Sylvia)

Focussing on xml upload and conformance and inputs. Controlled vocabulary (technical) should be the same for Metafor and ESG - need to spend time making them the same.

Issues of parameter change and namelists. Choice in conformance to say "via combination" which covers this. Bryan and Sylvia and Balaji to discuss off-line.

- Diagram of CIM instances and life cycle.

Mark will produce a first draft of document including terminology next week.

- any other news from:
  - CIM services (Mark M)

Dedicated telco next week to continue discussion about Ensembles.

Portal website starting to take shape.

  - CV news (Marie-Pierre)

Started work on downscaling mind map - collecting documentation and agreed an interview with a downscaling person. BADC MIRP project will build on what Marie-Pierre starts. Marie-Pierre and Charlotte and Antonio to talk about plans and working together.

Ticket 596 - Charlotte to open a ticket on controlled vocab for zero level component and assign to Marie-Pierre.

  - Dissemination (Sarah)

Workshop on Ensuring Access and Trustworthiness of Climate Observations and Models for Society - March 9-10 2010 at NCDC, Asheville NC. It's ok to give an overview. Balaji will summarise Metafor for us if he's going and will figure out what's going on with the meeting.

Nerc Technology forum - Gerry agreed to go in May.

 - Amendment 2

Ongoing - all the info collected. Making things more formal and will send to project officer soon.

 - Year 2 report

Eric to read Sarah's email with year 2 reporting instructions and send it to list if ok.
